All native nations have their own teachings about the drum. Here, our Anishnabek ways teach that these drums are our grandfathers. For us, there is a spirit inside each drum the same as there is spirit inside each of us. They are treated with tender loving care as you would treat a respected elder. When you take care of these drums, they will also take care of you. They will teach you, if you choose to listen.....

Keith Little Badger is an elder and was taught by his grandfather who was a traditional drum maker. Together, Keith & Cheryl lovingly customize each and every request. When you commission one of us, we will take the time to get a deeper understanding of what type of art will help you with your journey. When we sit down to do our art, we will seek a connection with the grandfather to help lift that spirit and create the most beautiful artwork you can imagine!
All our artists are walking a good path. We are all drug & alcohol free. We follow our traditional teachings the best we can, every day. We have an excellent understanding of the medicine that comes along with these drums, and your drum will be cared for with the utmost respect. It is a great honor for us to be asked to create artwork for something so sacred, and we take that to heart.
It is also, truly an honor for us to be working with Keith & Cheryl and to be part of the lives of these drums is like nothing we could have ever dreamed..... !
