Diane Bier
Fine Artist

Diane Bier has a deep connection with nature, both the plant & animal worlds, and this simply pours out of her fingertips and into her art!   She has become known here in Michigan for her detailed bird pen & ink works on cedar.  Each piece is etched - freehand.  Diane's husband of 31 years, Mark, shares her love and great respect for nature.  Mark gathers fallen cedars with Diane and then seasons, slices and sands each piece of cedar for her, and so it is truly a team effort.  (...and TWICE the good medicine going into their art!)  :)

In her work with acrylic, Diane has also shown her talent for shifting from highly detailed art, to exploring more open styles as well.  She has been experimenting with some of her own designs of 'spirit people' connecting with nature onto rawhide, which are absolutely gorgeous! 

Diane is an elder and traditional woman dancer.  She is of native american descent and both she & Mark have been actively involved in the native communities here in Northern Michigan/ Upper Peninsula for many many years.
